Cell Tower Inspection

Cell Network Maintenance and Modification:

The U.S. cellular network includes over 120,000 towers that require regular maintenance, inspection, and modification. Ice, hail, high winds, bee hives, birds nests, and lightning strikes are just some of the many challenges tower operators face in maintaining this critical network. Furthermore, network upgrades, such as 5G, require tower crews to have good data on the present state of existing tower structures to efficiently conduct their work. Aerial imaging has a vital role to play in tower maintenance and modification.

Inspection Services:

Pre-Work Inspection

Aerial imaging provides information to determine what tools and repairs will be needed prior to the climb.

Hazard Analysis

Structural issues and biological hazards from hives and nests can be dangerous for tower crews and result in avoidable delays. Aerial imaging allows these issues to be identified in advance.

Damage Assessment

Hail, wind storms, freezing rain, and many other weather events can cause damage to tower assets that need timely assessment to determine what repairs need to be done. This can be done with aerial imaging much more efficiently.

3D Modeling for Detailed Inspection and Tower Modification

3D modeling can allow for more detailed inspection information, such as antenna downtilt, azimuth, and plumb angles. For modifications, accurate distance measuring tools can aid in modeling new installations.
